Teaching people that Jesus is God - is a lie.

Teaching people that Jesus is God - is a lie.

Can you answer me this question. If Jesus is God, then who is God's father?

Jesus has a father.

I John 4:15 Whoseover shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God.

I John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

A lot of people teach a Trinity. They go to St. John 1:1 to back up their Trinity. They don't even read the whole chapter. They stop at verse one.

St. John 1:34 And I (John) saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

He is talking about Jesus.

For your information, in case you didn't know - John wrote St. John, I, II and III John as well as Revelation.

John wasn't saying that Jesus is God.

St. John 1:1 refers to Provebs 8: 22 and 30.

Let me share what they say.

Proverbs 8:22 The Lord possessed me (Jessus) in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

Proverbs 8:30 Then I (Jesus) was by him (God), as one brought up with him (God); and I (Jesus) was daily his (God) delight, rejoicing always before him (God).

St. John 1:1 also refers to Revelation 19:13

Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word Of God.

By saying that Jesus is God -you are calling Jesus a liar. He says he is the Son of God.

By saying that Jesus is God - you are calling God a liar. He says that Jesus is his son.

You need to search the bible for truth. The Trinity is a lie. It's teaches there are three in one. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.

A person that believes in the Tirinity told me that Jesus was praying to himself on the cross.

Jesus doesn't have a split personality. The world is coming to an end. It's time that people tell the truth.

Teaching people a lie such as Jesus is God, will have people believing that the the False christs are God as well. You do know that False chrsits will be revealed soon, right?

Tell the truth. For the Truth will make you free.

My response is in Green:

Thank you for writing me, but I think you are under some misconceptions about what being the Son of God means. You don't seem to have any problem with the fact that both God the Father and Jesus Himself called Jesus the Son of God, so we will start there.

Take a look at this passage: John 8:58-59 (NIV) {58} "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" {59} At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds. Do you understand why they picked up stones to stone Him? It is because He was claiming to be God. That is what being the Son of God means.

Here is another passage where Jesus clearly claims to be God: John 10:31-33 (NIV){31} Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, {32} but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"

{33} "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God." It sure seems that the Jews understood what Jesus was claiming.

But look further, it was predicted that the Messiah would be God. Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. No one that I know of disputes that this passage refers to the Messiah (Christ) and if you look it says He will be called Mighty God.

You claim that I am making Jesus and God out to be liars by saying that Jesus is God (the Son), well if you deny it I would say you are doing the same thing. Jesus did claim to be God, and He claimed to be God's Son.

Further look at this passage: John 20:28-29 (NIV){28} Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

{29} Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Thomas called Jesus both Lord and God and Jesus not only did not correct him, but went on to tell him that those (us) who believe even though we have not seen Him are blessed. Don't you think that if Jesus was not God, He would have corrected Thomas?

Your letter shows that you don't understand what the Trinity is. It sounds like your friend doesn't either. Jesus was not praying to Himself on the cross, He was praying to His Father (God the Father). We see a picture of the Trinity in many places. You can start in Genesis when God says: "Let us" make man in our own image. The Hebrew words used are plural. Next you can see it at Jesus' baptism, when God spoke from heaven and the Holy Spirit came on Him like a dove.

You see it again in Revelation (which I agree John wrote, by the way). Revelation 5:6-8 (NIV) {6} Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. {7} He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. {8} And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. Notice that the elders fall down in worship of the Lamb (Jesus Christ). Now look at who is worthy of worship: Revelation 22:8-9 (NIV) {8} I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. {9} But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!"

Only God is to be worshiped, so we see again that Jesus is God!!

We see also in the passages above that Jesus (the Son) takes the scroll from Him who is sitting on the thrown (God the Father).

You are mistaken about the interpretation of Proverbs 8:20-22 also. If you will look at all of Proverbs 8 you will see who is being spoke of. The who is wisdom. Look at the first three verses of Proverbs 8: Proverbs 8:1-3 (NIV)
{1} Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?
{2} On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand;
{3} beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud:

Notice that not only is it wisdom who is being spoken of, but also wisdom is called by female pronouns, so that in itself would make it clear the passage is not speaking of Jesus. After these three verses the rest of Proverbs 8 is written as if wisdom was speaking.

I have searched the Bible for the truth, maybe you should go back and check it again. I have given you only a small amount of the evidence presented in the Bible to prove that Jesus is God. He is God the Son. I will give you just one more: John 10:25-30 (NIV) {25} Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, {26} but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. {27} My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. {28} I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. {29} My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand {30} I and the Father are one." Wouldn't you agree that only God can give eternal life? Jesus clearly says in this passage that He gives us eternal life. He also say that He and the Father are one.

I hope you will search the Bible and check it out for yourself. If Jesus was just a man, then He would have had to die for His own sins, only if He were both God and man could He pay for the sins of the world.
