I absolutely know that Jesus cannot be God.

Hello there. I would like to thank you for you site, and spreading the name of Jesus Christ, but I do have a few questions/discrepencies. First off, I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal saviour, but I absolutely know that he cannot be God. How do I know this? The Word of God. In the gospels, Christ states that we (the born-again Christians) will do greater works than he did. (I apologize for not giving the specific verse. I don't have a Bible where I am currently at.) If he truly was God, then how can that be? Secondly, the is absolutely, positively, no time ever (assuming the passage is rightly divided) when anybody in God's Word ever prayed to Jesus Christ. We are told to pray thru Jesus Christ but NEVER to him. Thirdly, there are many verses that state "this is my son, in whom I am well pleased." If God was Jesus Christ, then why would this be doctrine? Wouldn't he say "this is me in the second part of the trinity in whom I am well pleased" and clear up any possible doubt. My challenge to you is to find a verse to refute these statements.

One other thing is that history even proves the trinity wrong. Look up "Council of Nicea" (around 300 A.D) or something similar in an encyclopedia. You will find in some texts that Constantine (emperor at that time) "made up" the trinity (he was a sun god worshipper and said that he saw Christ's image in the sun one day while worshipping. That is how the whole halo thing behind Christ's head comes from) Constantine had absolute power at this time and would cut off people's heads who defied him. At that council, many of the bishops signed the creed out of coersion and the ones that didn't sign were exiled. Christians were being heavily persecuted at this time and triune gods were popular at this time. You can see where this leads. More proof comes in picture form. The pictures in mosques pre-Council of Nicea show an image of a shepard. Pictures post-Council show the halo thing I mentioned earlier. Pictures don't lie. It's also interesting to note that after this council the original scrolls of the Bible "disappeared." It makes one wonder...

One other thing that you didn't mention was speaking in tongues. I find it odd that something as important as that is left out. There are seven accounts in Acts where speaking in tongues was proof that someone was saved and it still holds true today. If you are gonna bring someone to the salvation of Jesus Christ, then you owe it to them to let them know about the true worship and perfect prayer that the holy spirit in them manifests. This is one of the greater works that Christ spoke of in the gospels.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions I welcome them. God Bless!

My response is in Green:

Well you have been mislead on several counts. For one if Jesus is not God, then you have no savior. Either He is God or He is less than God and could not die for anyone else's sins. Read your Bible and you will see many places that prove the Trinity. For example why did Jesus say that He and the Father are one? (John 10:29-30 NIV) {29} My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. {30} I and the Father are one.

Also why was Jesus crucified? It was because He claimed to be God. He forgave sins for example and only God can forgive sins. He also has accepted worship which is due only to God. (Revelation 5:6-8 NIV) {6} Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. {7} He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. {8} And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

In Isaiah the Messiah (which means Christ) was described like this:

(Isaiah 9:6 NIV) For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

God says that the Redeemer or the Christ would be God. So I guess you disagree with God and His prophecy.

As for the halo. Sorry that does not prove anything. The halo is suppose to show holiness. If you look you will notice that all the Saints have halos and so does Mary. So what? Next you talk about Mosques, you do realize that Muslim's believe as you do that Jesus is not God? So I am not surprised that they have no halos over His head, but again so what. I could care less what the Muslim's think, I care what God's word says.

As for tongues. It is not evidence of salvation. It is a gift but not all believers get this gift. Let me show you:

(1 Corinthians 12:30-31 NIV) {30} Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? {31} But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.

(1 Corinthians 14:5 NIV) {5} I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.

Notice that Paul says not all speak in tongues and he also states that he would rather have people prophesy. Now if tongues was the sign of salvation wouldn't he want everyone to speak in tongues?

You need to read your Bible more closely.
