The definition of a religious fanatic is someone who believes in God.

If God created the world then he is responsible for any problems in it.

People sin because they are unable to resist temptation (we should agree here) so therefore they must have some form of weakness, surely, as God creates all men, the wekness must have been created by God. The idea of a creator negates the idea of free will. Especially if you go back to Eve, why did she rebel? because god made her have a weakness, therefore he must have deliberately done this for some reason egomania?? I can understand that, if I'd created everything then I'd be up myself too.

The best example of this is Satan, if angels live in paradise then why would he rebel?? If he was not happy in paradise the surely it was defective, if it was defective then GOd must have made it so, why? Logic destroys what you believe, suicide is wrong but if you try to force the cicle on people you will simply make it worse.

Salvation comes from acceptance of Jesus Christ as the Saviour. How arrogant is that?? Good deeds count for nothing, forgiveness may be good but it seems bizarre that a paedophile priest is saved because he believes and I am supposed to go to hell because I don't want to get caught up in the ultimate ego trip (assuming this is all true, however if you look at religion you'll see it's just a desperate attempt to escape from the fear of death, if people were happy here then it wouldnt matter so much bout an afterlife).

What is the definition of a religious fanatic?? Someone who believes in god.

My response is in Green:

It never ceases to amaze me that people who claim to not even believe there is a God have such a hard time with Him. If there is no God then why did you bother to spend the time writing the message you wrote to me? See the problem is that deep inside you know there is a God. Even though I think this is a waste of time, I will try to answer your questions.

Have you ever heard of people who were caught shop lifting and when booked on the charge it was found that they had more than enough money to buy what they stole? That happens all the time. Why? Because they are evil and it is not because they needed or even wanted something that they could not afford, it is that they did not want to do what it right. So your whole idea that Satan would only have rebelled if something was wrong in heaven is ridiculous. Maybe you should read the Bible and find out why he rebelled. It was not that heaven had something wrong in it, it was because he wanted to take the place of God.

You claim that if there is a God then He is responsible for all the problems. Wow, that is a stretch. Your statement that people sin because they are unable to resist is wrong. Most people never try to resist. They sin because they have evil hearts. You go even further off into the weeds when you talk about Eve. She did not have a weakness, she was tempted and she made a decision to sin, to rebel against God.

But even if we say you are right and we sin because we have a weakness, so what? That is not the same thing as saying we can't resist. Let me give you an example. Let's say you get caught robbing a store. You appear before the judge and he asks you why you did it. You tell him you could not help it because you have a weakness, you want things and things cost money and the store had money so you took it. Do you think the judge will let you go free or will he punish you?

Why would he punish you, after all you are a victim who had a weakness!! Your problem is that you know you are a sinner but you want to blame God for your own sinfulness. It won't work.

You also show your ignorance of the Bible by some of the statements you have made. You claim that good works count for nothing. That is wrong. You are half right, good works will not get a person to heaven, only belief in Jesus Christ will do that. Good works are meaningful for both those who believe in Christ and those who do not. Let me explain. (2 Corinthians 5:8-10 NIV) [8] We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. [9] So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. [10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

So you see I as a believer will one day stand before Christ and answer for the things I have done. Now look at this passage: (Revelation 20:12 NIV) [12] And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

The people being judged here are non-believers. They will be judged by everything they have done which is recorded in the books. No matter how much good they have done it will not get them to heaven, but the punishment will be different for those who did good things than for those who have done bad things.

Now let me address something else you said. You talked about you going to hell because you don't believe and a pedophile priest going to heaven because he believed. The problem here is that you don't understand what it takes to be a Christian. We say all that you have to do is believe, but that is not exactly correct. Yes you have to believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son, that He came to earth as a human while remaining God, that He lived a sinless life, that He died for your sins and that He was resurrected from the dead. That is what you have to believe, but that is not everything, you must also admit that you are a sinner and that you are sorry for your sins and ask for forgiveness. Now part of forgiveness is to repent or in other words to turn from your sin. A pedophile is a sinner and a sinner is not following Christ, so he is not going to heaven. Now that is not to say that a pedophile or a murderer or anyone else if they are truly sorry and ask for forgiveness cannot be forgiven, because they can be. However anyone who truly confessed and repented would have tried to help his victims and would never do it again. The priests in the new on the other hand have continued to sin and have continued to deny and cover up what they have done. They are not following Christ in any shape or form. My point is that you can't judge other people, but God is a fair and just judge and each person will get what they deserve.

(1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NIV) [9] Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders [10] nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Look carefully at this passage. It clearly says that people who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy, drunkards, slanderers or swindlers will not get to heaven. When a person confesses their sin and makes Jesus Lord of their life, they are no longer any of these things. The Bible tells us who the Christians are: (1 John 2:3-6 NIV) [3] We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. [4] The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [5] But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: [6] Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

We must obey His commands, and those commands are to live holy lives. So a 'believer' who is sinning, such as a pedophile priest is not believer at all. Here is another passage which shows what I mean: (Hebrews 10:26-27 NIV) [26] If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, [27] but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

Now you claim people sin because they can't help it, but I deny that, so if a person claims to be saved but continues to sin, he is just fooling himself. The bottom line is this; you will one day stand before God and answer for what you have done and whether you believed in Jesus Christ or not. It won't matter what other people did or did not do, they will answer for themselves, we all will. God will not accept the idea that you did not believe just because of the actions of other people.

(Romans 5:8 NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

(Romans 10:9-13 NIV) That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. [11] As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." [12] For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-- the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, [13] for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

I may be a fanatic but here is what God says about someone who claims there is no God: (Psalm 53:1 NIV) The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."
