I read the whole Jesus/Hitler thing. I had no opinion on it really. I'm an Atheist guy from CA. I believe Jesus existed but I don't see how exactly he was the son of "god". He was born of normal parents such as you or I. I think christianity was by means of frightening people. Jesus would tell people that they would go to hell if they didn't listen to him. I have spoken to many a worthless christian and they constantly tell me that I shall attend "Hell" for not being a believer of god or not acknowledging the fact that "it" created the universe. Anyway, thinking this way is not what I have a problem with.
What I dislike mostly about the Christian religion is that they are absolutely certain that the universe was created by god. Christians think this way because they can't possibly imagine any other way the universe was created. I am open to the fact that perhaps "god" did create the universe, but the ARE explanations beyond imaginations of how the universe was created. The most common excuse for this I hear is: You've just gotta believe. That is totally lame. I don't mind people having opinions about how they think things came to be, but I just don't like the fact that they "know" this.
Another problem I have with the Christian religion is Easter. I uhhh...don't really believe in...how should we say this...being resurected. This does not happen to people of the human race. I have watched vampire movies, so maybe if "christ" was a vampire, I would be able to understand.
I think all religions in general, not just christianity, were formed to give people an answer of why everything is. If we find out when we die that the afterlife is a huge dance party, I would like to see christians there and laugh at them and ask them why I'm not in hell. I accept the fact that I don't know anything. I shall not believe in something I don't know of.
I'll give you this. A lot of Atheists are incredibly stupid.
Please respond to me.
My response is in Green:
Why does it bother you that I am absolutely certain that God created everything? Let me ask you a couple questions. As you sit and look at your computer; where did it come from? Did someone design it and build it or did it come about by random chance? Do you KNOW someone designed it and built it? In other words are you absolutely sure, or is it possible that someone just found it and it came about by random chance?
Now if you are being honest you know that someone designed it and built it. So now let's take it one step further. Let's say you open the case and take everything out. You unhook all the connections, take out all the screws, everything and put all the parts on the desk. Okay, now you have an empty shell that used to be your computer. Now just place all the parts back inside of the case, don't hook anything up, just place all the parts inside and close the case.
Now you have a complete computer, you know you have all the parts to make it work because it worked before you took it apart. Now shake the computer case... How long before you have a working computer again? Would it take a week for all the parts to go back together and start working? A year? A hundred years? A million years? How about 4.3 billion years? In 4.3 billion years would you have a working computer? Would all the parts go together correctly and start working?
Again if you are honest you know that it will never be a working computer again unless you put all the parts back in their right places.
Now get up and go look in the mirror. Do you realize that what you are looking at is a trillion times more complex than the most advanced supercomputer? Yet if God did not design us and build us then we came about by random chance over the period of about 4.3 billion years. And we started without any of the parts. So your computer could not rebuild itself even though it had all the parts but all of mankind did and didn't even have the right parts to start with.
Yes I am absolutely sure God created us.
Tell you what, if when you die you find yourself at a dance party, please feel free to laugh at me. However, if you find yourself in hell in eternal torment, you can be sure I won't be laughing at you. God loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him, but if you choose to ignore the plain evidence all around you, then you have no one to blame but yourself. God does not send you to hell for not believing in Him, you send yourself there by your sinful actions.
(Ezekiel 18:4 NIV) For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son--both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.
You will die because you have sinned. But you don't need to die in hell, because God loves you and is giving you a chance to be saved.
(Romans 5:8 NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
You said Christianity was made to explain everything. You are wrong it was made to explain one thing; that God loves you and wants to save you.
If you don't believe in resurrection then you don't believe in an after life, which means you will be just like a dog and just cease to exist. You better think about that a lot because you know that is not true. See God put eternity in your heart and you know you will exist forever one place or another. During this life is when you get to choose which place that will be. You can be absolutely certain if you want to be.
It is up to you. Don't read my words, read God's words, you owe it to yourself.
