gOD is a misconception

My response is in Green:

Thanks for writing me, I guess. No really, I like discussing my faith. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have attempted to answer some of your questions and so we can both be sure of what we are both talking about I am putting my comments in your message where the item or question was.

Well well well, can I just ask you a question? What proof of gOD do you have?

I guess it depends on what you call proof. I have plenty of proof but you might not agree that it means anything. If you read my testimony you would have seen that I grew up in a Christian home, but I have not always walked the walk. I have had my doubts and my period of doing my own thing. But I came back to Christianity because I realized that nothing else the world offered meant anything. I know that God helped me, but I also know that is a very subjective conclusion on my side. So like I said I have proof enough for myself, but probably not for you. However, can you prove He does not exist? Of course not.

What proof do you have that says some government back in the day didnt write the bible to control thier?

I have plenty of proof that some government did not just write the Bible to control people. First you can look at historical data and disprove the theory that a government invented Christianity. The Romans were very good record keepers. There is a lot of data outside of the Bible which proves that Jesus did live, that He did have followers, and that He was killed by crucifixion. You can even prove from non-biblical sources that the followers of Jesus believed that they saw Him again alive after He was crucified. These guys all ran away when He was killed but yet just three days afterward they all became brave and ended up giving their lives instead of denouncing their faith. Why do you think that happened? I say it is because they saw Him and knew from that point on that no matter what happened to them they would be in heaven with Him.

Second, if this was all invented by a government it would have had to have been the Romans. Now if the Romans wanted to control people my making up a religion why would they then go around killing anyone who believed in their invented religion? Does not make any sense!! The early Christians were soaked with wax and tied to posts and then lit on fire to give light to the gardens in Rome. They were sewn into animal skins and attacked by animals. They were beaten and killed. You might not realize this but if you want someone to do what you want them to, this is not a good way of going about it.

Why is your blind faith put in a gOD you really know nothing about?

Before I answer that question, I just want to ask you one. If there is no God and therefore I am just a part of the herd, why does even the name bother you so much. Or are you just trying to get under my skin by the way you write God? Hey it does not bother me, but I can't speak for God, I guess you will have to ask Him yourself someday.

Now for your question. You make two assumptions in this question. One you claim my faith is blind faith, but yet you don't know anything about me. Second you say that I don't know anything about God but again you don't know that. See I have studied His word for myself and decided for myself that I want to serve Him. My faith has been thought out, not because of something someone else believes or says, it is because of what I believe.

Why are 92% of mericals unproven by science?

What is your definition of a miracle? My definition is something that cannot be explained by science. Let's look at Jesus' first miracle; turning water into wine. Now if science came up with this explanation that if you put water in pots and left it in the sun for two days it would turn into wine and then people said that is what Jesus did. He put the water in the pots two days before the wedding supper and that is how He turned it into wine. Well that might make you happy because now science would prove He could have done it, but it would mean nothing to me because any man could have done that. On the other hand if science cannot explain it and yet Jesus did it, then He must have been who He said He was (the Son of God). Thanks for helping me prove my point.

If gOD created everything why satan and evil, if he created everything then he created sin too.

This is a misconception that many people believe. Let's look at it one other way for just a minute. Let's say that if God created light He must have created dark too. Does that make sense? Darkness after all is nothing more than the absence of light. My point is this. God is good. He is the only being who is totally good in all of creation. Sin can be thought of as the absence of good. Since God is good sin is the absence of God. When God created the angels and man, He gave them free will to choose to serve Him or not. Those that chose not to serve Him were sinful. God created Lucifer, who was the most powerful angel, the most beautiful angel. Lucifer on the other hand rejected the good (God) and became Satan. So in my view Lucifer created Satan not God.

If gOD is all powerful then why would gOD just sit on his ass and watch us sin and go to hell (I dont think hell is real either, its just a christian scare tactic to convert "everyone", just FYI) If gOD loves us so much then why the "hell" would he let us even go to hell?

That is a good question. But again I am afraid you have made a wrong assumption. That is that God has done nothing while humanity goes to hell. This one might not be your fault, maybe you don't understand who Jesus is. So let me quickly go through this. Jesus is God, He has always been God, He will always be God. He is one of what we call the Trinity. God is one being but yet He is three persons, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. When God created man (and woman) He gave them free will to decided if they wanted to follow Him or not. Adam and Eve chose to sin and as a result all of humanity after them are born with a sinful nature. You can see that in children. You don't teach kids to lie, they do that naturally, you have to teach them to tell the truth. Anyway, God is and has always been holy and cannot stand to be around sin. His holy nature demands punishment for sin, any sin. That punishment is always the same, spiritual death to the sinner. In other words total separation from God (that is what hell is, total separation from God).

So we were all sentenced to death for our sins. Now if God had left us with that problem then you would be right, but He did not leave it at that. He did what to us is the unthinkable, He sent His Son (Jesus) to earth as a human, but one born without sin. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and as part of that death God the Father separated Himself from Jesus (spiritual death) again because of our sins. The difference is this, since Jesus was holy and without sin, He could pay our debt once and for all. We on the other hand would have to pay that debt for eternity. Now all that we have to do is believe that Jesus is who He claimed to be (the Son of God) that He did pay our debt and that He will forgive us if we just ask. And then all we have to do is ask.

It is kind of like this. Say you kill someone and the judge at the trial sentences you to death. You are in your death row cell and the very night that they are going to kill you the judge who sentenced you comes to your cell. He tells you that he cannot change what you did and he cannot change the law, but maybe there is something else he can do for you. He unlocks the door and tells you that if you will only ask he will come in and take your place and you can go home a free man. Now if you refuse to ask, or you tell him you don't really believe he would do it, or whatever; but the important thing is that you don't ask, whose fault is it? When they come get you and take you to the death chamber, is it the judge's fault or yours?

If I put blind faith in a rock will it become GOD? What makes your belief right and my non-belief wrong? You?

Nope its not me, God is the one who says so. You may not like it but that does not make it different. You might want to believe that your rock can save you from hell, but that does not mean it can.

gOD said somewhere in the bible that he would not use wrath on humans again then why do bad people go to hell, sending someone to hell is not wrath?

I feel kind of bad about this but you are wrong again. Well you are partly right, I would describe hell as God's wrath. The part you are wrong about is that God never said He would never vent His wrath on humans again. In fact He says many times that He will. I think what you are confusing is this: After the flood God said He would never again destroy all of mankind with a flood, and to seal that covenant He placed His bow (the rainbow) in the sky. He said He won't destroy all of mankind with a flood again and He won't. He has said He will pour our His wrath on mankind and He will.

I am sure you will hate me using scripture but hey I am a Christian so what do you expect? (Ephesians 5:6 NIV) Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.

(Romans 12:19 NIV) Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

I thought your gOD was a "PEACFUL" gOD then why does he have even have wrath? You say your gOD is sinless, gOD created sin but has never sined? Actrully your so called gOD is supposed to not understand sin at all but he created everything, including sin, so gOD created somthing gOD doesnt understand well that sounds kinda unperfect ya know!

Wow, I would like to know where you are getting some of this from. Anyway, I have already covered the part about God creating sin. I just don't understand why you think God does not understand sin. As far as being peaceful He is, but don't take that to mean He does not get angry or that He will not punish those who deserve it. Just because a person is peaceful does not mean you can do anything you want to him and not make him angry.

Why are people who are raised not to believe in gOD wrong cause you and all the other christians said so?

It is not because we say so it is because that is the way it is. Just because a person does not believe something does not make it wrong. If I iron my shirt and my child comes into the room and reaches for the hot iron and I tell him it is hot but he says no it's not. Does that mean when he touches it he won't get burnt? Of course not. But let me take a moment to explain something here. I believe we are all judged on what we know not what we don't know. God has placed knowledge of Himself in every heart. The person might not understand who God is but they all understand there is a God. So I don't believe that a person who has never had the benefit of hearing about Jesus Christ will be judged the same way that a person like yourself who has heard. That does not excuse the other person it just means that if they try to serve God as they understand Him and as the Holy Spirit moves them, they will be saved, but if they reject those feelings they are lost too. They might never know Jesus by name but the Holy Spirit is still capable of leading them to Him.

gOD is pretty much a contradiction to itself in so many ways and oh so many ways and its pure fact that they all cant be explained! Well these are a lot of questions that put billions of holes in your gOD but Im sure you will think up and answer for them all or do they stump you?

You might stump me but you can't stump God. Show me these contradictions and I will try to answer them. So far you have not shown me anything.

I hope so cause that means I opened you mind a little more! You have no evidence for your gOD except your faith and thats even blind, does not blind mean no sight? So what your blind faith is saying is you dont want to see the truth even if its disproves your gOD. Thats just ignorance.

I would like you to open your mind a little bit. How about reading the Bible and seeing who God is? You keep claiming my faith is blind, but have you ever looked at both sides? Or are you what you claim I am but just on the other side? To quote you; that's just ignorance....

All your blind faith is doing is hiding you from the truth even if the truth is god (and I doubt that is the truth because there are way to many ways to disprove you religion)

Okay go for it, disprove my religion. If there are so many ways I would like to hear them. I am open minded and I will seriously consider anything you write me. Will you do the same?

You have been brainwashed to become so unopen minded that you even displace fact. Just think for a minuit man, be a human for a while and think and have natural instincs as humans do, as they are suposed to thats why they are natrual instincs! Like sex with women, I am wrong because I follow an instict that has been with me since the day I was born? F*** that, its natrual to want things as a human and one of thoes natrual wants is knowlage even if that knowlage is a search to prove your gOD right and real. Become what you are human not a cow in a herd of cattle being herded along. THINK ABOUT IT THATS ALL JUST THINK and if you gOD says even thoughts of these questions are sins then your god is really playen one hell of a joke on us! I dont find it funny! Peace

You are wrong again I have not been brainwashed. If I had never strayed outside of the beliefs that my parents instilled in me, then maybe you would have a point, but since you don't know anything about me you make these wrong assumptions. I have looked at different religions, I have walked away from God. I have done many sinful, selfish things in my past. I am not proud of them, but they are part of the reason I know God is real. I know the kind of person I was and the kind of person I am now. No one other than God could have made that change in me.

I agree that wanting sex is natural, that is not a sin. The sin is when, how and with whom you have sex. God created sex and when it is experienced in its proper place it is not a sin. That proper place is within marriage.

Now I have a question for you. You say what comes nature should not be sin. Well you are forgetting that we all have sinful natures. Here is an example. You think it should be okay to have sex with women anytime you want (or at least I take it that is what you are trying to say). But what if the woman does not want sex with you? Is it still alright since you want it and it is a natural feeling? Now think about this, lets say big Bubba from down the street does not like girls, he likes boys and he has these 'natural' feelings for you. Is it okay for him to do what he feels is good and natural whether you like it or not?

My point is that just because something seems natural and right and good to a person does not make it right. God hates sin, and sin by its nature will do harm to people, yet it is the very thing that people want to do. God predicted what our world would be like: (2 Timothy 3:1-4 NIV) But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. {2} People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, {3} without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, {4} treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--

One last point I want to make. God is real whether you believe in Him or not. He also loves you whether you believe it or not. He sent His Son to die for you, but it is up to you whether you believe that or not. It is up to you whether you come out of that death row cell or whether you go to the death chamber cursing the Judge (God) who tried to free you. You owe it to yourself to find out whether He is real or not. If my faith in God is blind faith and I am wrong, what have I missed out on? Not much, I had what the world calls fun, but it never satisfied me. I am happier now then I have ever been before. If on the other hand your blind faith that there is no God is wrong, well ...
