Thoughts to Ponder

In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
John 14:2-3

Worried about being lost in the crowd?

Have you ever thought much about Heaven? Heaven is a place that all Christians should look forward to with great anticipation. It will be a wonderful place. Not because of the gold streets, or other wonders, but because we will be in the presences of God and His Son Jesus Christ.

This should be one of every Christians greatest joys. Is it one of yours? I find that sometimes Satan takes this joy away from me. He cannot take away the assurance that I will one day be with my Lord and Savior, so he takes away some of the joy and anticipation of that time. Why would he care if I am looking forward with great joy to that day when I am with Christ? Could it be that if I look forward with great anticipation to that day it will show through my life and be a witness for Christ?

So if Satan cannot shake my faith in the fact that someday I will be in the presence of Christ, what does he do? He makes me think of Christ in human terms. He makes me think about being lost in the crowd in Heaven. There will be such people there as; Moses, David, Peter, Paul, John, Abraham, D.L. Moody, C.S. Lewis, Billy Graham, D. James Kennedy, and many many more. Old Testament Saints, evangelist, ministers, prophets, people who have led hundreds, even thousands to Christ. With all these heavyweights around not to mention the thousands of martyrs who have given their lives for Christ, what place will there be for someone like me? Why would Christ spend any time with or even give a thought to someone like me?

I have been to some big and busy cities in my life, New York, Hong Kong, Chicago, San Francisco, Singapore and many more. Places teaming with people. Yet I have been in those kinds of crowds and felt all alone. Thousands of people pushing and shoving, going about their business but not one that I knew, not one who knew me, not one who even seemed to care about me.

Could Heaven be like this? Could it be paradise, could you have every desire, but be lonely, lost in the crowd? NO. This is not what Heaven will be like. Satan is the father of lies!! Don't let him take any of your joy and anticipation away.

On a hot sunny day when you are in a crowd, do you feel the heat from the sun any less because it is beating down on a crowd? Is our God not more powerful than the sun He made?

Christ became a man and if that was the end of the story than maybe Satan's distorted view of Heaven might be true. Praise God that is not the end of the story. While becoming a man, Christ remained the Son of God. He died for each and every one of us. He did not die only for Moses, David, Peter, Paul, John, Abraham, D.L. Moody, C.S. Lewis, Billy Graham, or D. James Kennedy. One of the hardest things for me personally to understand is that Christ loved me enough to die for me. That He would have come to earth, and died even if I was the only person to ever believe in Him. Of course He knew that there would be more than just me to believe in Him, but that should not rob me of the assurance that I was important enough for Him to come to earth and die for. I use the pronoun I, but I mean all of us. You were important enough and He loved you enough to come to earth and die, even if you were the only person to ever believe in Him. Don't let Satan take that away from you either.

God has shown many times that we are all important in His eyes. God saved Noah and his family when He destroyed the earth with the flood. God saved Lot and his family when He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

Look what Job said: "What is man that you make so much of him, that you give him so much attention, that you examine him every morning and test him every moment? Will you never look away from me, or let me alone even for an instant?" Job 7:17-19 Now I must admit, Job was not all that happy with all the attention he was getting at that time, but the point is still the same, God does not forget us, any of us, for even an moment.

Satan knows what it is like to be in the presence of God, but he gave it up due to his own pride. Don't let him take anything away from you. Look what Jesus said: In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 Notice He said, your Father in heaven. God is our Father, that makes us something special in His eyes. Would even a normal human father forget one of his sons? Christ calls God our Father in Heaven many times. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:26

Claim your inheritance! Look forward with joy and anticipation to that day when you will be in the presence of the Most High. You won't ever feel alone again. Christ knows you by name and even how many hairs are on your head! Are not two sparrows sold for a penny ? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
